History:
Constance Allen was an educator in the San Antonio area for over 50 years and was instrumental in providing financial assistance to cover education costs for many women. She was recognized with the “Yellow Rose of Texas Award” by the Governor of Texas in 1985 for her efforts. She was a long-standing member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, Inc. of San Antonio until her death at the age of 100. The Constance Allen Heritage Guild For Lifetime Learning was established in 1986 by the past presidents of the club, in honor of her memory and to keep alive her spirit of helping deserving individuals fulfill their potential through higher education in spite of a lack of personal resources.
