About Post-Baccalaureate / Professional / Certification

 

Post-Baccalaureate programs are intended for individuals who have obtained a Bachelor’s degree and who would like to become certified to teach. The UTSA Post-Baccalaureate program is a University based program and is not an alternative certification program. The UTSA Post Baccalaureate programs include:

  • Elementary Programs:
    • EC-4 Generalist
    • EC-4 Bilingual Generalist
  • Middle School Programs:
    • 4-8 English as a Second Language
    • 4-8 Bilingual Generalist
  • Secondary Grades 8-12 in the following areas:
    • English, Language Arts, and Reading
    • History
    • Life Science
    • Math
    • Physical Science
    • Science
    • Social Studies
    • Speech
    • Technology Applications

Some programs (French, German & Spanish) will expire in 2007.  Contact a Teacher Certification Specialist in regard to these programs.

  • EC-12 Programs:
    • EC-12 Health
    • EC-12 Physical Education
    • EC-12 Art
    • EC-12 Special Education
    • EC-12 Spanish, French, German (Current programs expiring, new programs pending approval)
    • EC-12 Music - Students seeking Music certification should first contact the Music Department and request a transcript evaluation.
