The degree only track (BA-IDS-DEG) is for students who don’t want to teach, but are seeking a career in a youth or education-related field outside of the public school system. This degree is an excellent option for students who plan to continue their studies with an advanced degree.
Option 2:Teacher Certification Track
Interdisciplinary studies majors who select this track are preparing to become Texas certified public school teachers. To become a classroom teacher, you will need to decide at which level you want to teach. Here are the options available to interdisciplinary studies majors:

There are other teaching certificates that you can choose from.
Students who want to teach at the secondary level (8th-12th grades) or want to teach Music, Art or Foreign Languages will major in a different college at UTSA. You will not be a major in the College of Education and Human Development. Click here for more information.
